timeline

In 767, Flemlingen was first mentioned in the Lorsch Codex on the occasion of a donation to the Lorsch Abbey. In the 13th century, the village was part of the Geisburg rule . From 1279 the place belonged to a knight of Tan as an imperial fief. After the Tan family died out , Flemlingen passed to the Lords of Schönenburg in 1603 and, thirty years later, in 1633, the property passed to the Counts of Trautmansdorf. In the Thirty Years' War , the town was like so many others heavily damaged. In 1675 Flemlingen passed to the nobles von der Leyen , who from then on owned the place as Count von der Leyen until the end of the 18th century.

After 1792 French revolutionary troops occupied the region and annexed it after the Peace of Campo Formio (1797) . From 1798 to 1814 the village belonged to the French department of Donnersberg and was assigned to the canton of Edenkoben and was subordinate to the Mairie Burrweiler . In 1815 the community had a total of 362 inhabitants. Due to the agreements made at the Congress of Vienna (1815) and an exchange treaty with Austria , the region came to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1816 . From 1818 the municipality of Burrweiler was assigned to the Landau Landau commissioner in the Bavarian Rhine District, later to the Landau district office.

From 1939 the place was part of the Landau district in the Palatinate . After the Second World War , Flemlingen became part of the then newly formed state of Rhineland-Palatinate within the French occupation zone . During the first Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform changed the community on June 7, 1969 in the newly created district Landau-Bad Bergzabern, in 1978 in South County Wine Trail is renamed . 1972 Flemlingen was assigned to the also newly formed community of Edenkoben .
