The Haardtrand - Am Wachtberg nature reserve is located in the Südliche Weinstrasse district in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The approximately 12.3 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1989 , extends on the northern edge of the local community of Schweigen-Rechtenbach . The B 38 runs to the east and the Russbach flows not far to the south . The state border with France runs southwest .
