The Haardtrand nature reserve - Below the Madenburg lies in the area of the Südliche Weinstrasse district in Rhineland-Palatinate .

The 25.27 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection by ordinance of January 14, 1991 , extends southwest of the local community of Eschbach . The state road 508 passes directly on the eastern edge of the area, the B 48 runs south and flows the Kaiserbach . West, the ruined castle rises Madenburg , one of the largest and oldest castles in the Pfalz .
