Johann Kittel (born June 29, 1519 in Jüterbog , † February 12, 1590 in Danzig ) was a German theologian and educator.

Johann Kittel studied in Wittenberg and received his doctorate in philosophy as a baccalaureus in 1539. In 1540 he was a teacher in Joachimsthal, three years later a master's degree and preacher in Kamenz . From 1550 he was pastor in Brandenburg an der Havel .

At the invitation of the Rostock Council , he gave a trial sermon at the Marienkirche there at the beginning of November 1560 and was then appointed by the council as superintendent and professor at the university, after receiving his doctorate in theology in 1561. As a result of a dispute over jurisdiction between the ducal ministry and the city council, Kittel had to leave Rostock in June 1563.

He then became superintendent of Niederlausitz in Lübben and was pastor and superintendent in Danzig from 1566.
