Johann Kolowrat (Canon)

Johann von Kolowrat , also Hanusch ; Hanuš II. , (* Before 1435 ; † September 23, 1483 in Prague ) was a Bohemian nobleman, priest and apostolic administrator of Prague.

Life

Johann Kolowrat came from the noble family of Kolowrat and was the son of Hans von Kolowrat on Liebstein . After the death of his father, he inherited the Žebrák castle . After the death of his wife in 1467 he became a Roman Catholic priest and became provost of the cathedral chapter in Prague.

He was canon of Vyšehrad , a rampart south of Prague Castle on the opposite side of the Vltava and founded as the second Přemyslid castle in the first half of the 10th century. From 1468 to 1483, Johann was appointed administrator of the Archdiocese of Prague by Pope Paul II during the Sedis vacancy by the Hussites . He was buried in Prague.
