Johann Konrad Behrends

Johann Konrad Behrends (born February 28, 1775 in Frankfurt am Main ; † September 7, 1843 ) was a lawyer and politician of the Free City of Frankfurt .

Johann Konrad Behrends was the son of a doctor and the first city physician of Frankfurt. He studied law in Marburg and Tübingen and was awarded a Dr. jur. PhD. After completing his studies, he first worked at the Reich Chamber of Commerce in Wetzlar and then became a lawyer in Frankfurt am Main. From 1838 to 1843 he was in-house counsel and appellate judge in Frankfurt.

From 1825 to 1836 he was a senator in the Senate of the Free City of Frankfurt . From 1836 to 1843 he was then Schöff. In 1832 and 1835 he was the junior mayor. He was a member of the legislative body from 1817, 1820 to 1831 and was Vice-President of Parliament in 1824. He belonged to the permanent citizen representation from 1816 to 1824.

His daughter Susanna Maria (born October 4, 1811 Frankfurt am Main; † September 6, 1889 Frankfurt am Main) became engaged to Nikolaus Lenau in 1844 .
