Johann Krane

Johann Krane (* around 1595 in Geseke ; † 1673 in Vienna ) was Reichshofrat of the Holy Roman Empire from 1633 .

Life

On behalf of Ferdinand III. Johann Krane took part in the preparations for the negotiations for the Peace of Westphalia in Cologne and Hamburg. He then brought the certificate of neutrality for the negotiation locations Münster and Osnabrück , with which the two cities were released from their duties to the emperor and the sovereigns for the duration of the negotiations . It was solemnly read on May 17, 1643 in the council chamber of the Münster town hall . He arrived in Osnabrück on June 4, 1643. His other duties included negotiating and renting quarters for the delegates. As the second imperial negotiator alongside Count Johann Maximilian von Lamberg , he signed the peace treaty between the Holy Roman Empire and Sweden in Osnabrück .

For his services during the negotiations for the Peace of Westphalia he was in 1652 by Emperor Ferdinand III. ennobled. He remained in his service and took part in deputation and Reichstag in Frankfurt and in Regensburg .
