Johann Goose Goose
Johann Kropfgans (born October 14, 1708 in Breslau , † after 1769 probably in Leipzig ) was a German lutenist and composer .
Life
Goose probably received his first lute lessons from his father. Shortly after 1735 he became a member of the private band of Heinrich Adolph von Brühl in Dresden and a student of Silvius Leopold Weiss . In 1763 he went to Leipzig and played there - verifiably until 1769 - in Johann Adam Hiller's great concerts .
Kropfgans is one of the most important lutenists of the 18th century.
Works
Various sonatas , divertimenti and trios have come down to us . During his lifetime only the III Sonates pour le Lut op.1 appeared in print .
