Johann Ludwig Nüscheler
Johann Ludwig Nüscheler (baptized October 13, 1672 in Seengen , Canton Aargau , † April 27, 1737 in Zurich ) was a Swiss Reformed pastor and Antistes of the Zurich Church.
Life
Johann Ludwig Nüscheler was born in 1672 as the son of pastor Felix Nüscheler and his wife Emeretia Hofmeister. He began his theology studies in Zurich, which he continued on various study trips. In 1699 Johann Ludwig Nüscheler became a reformed pastor in Bad Grönenbach . He succeeded Johann Heinrich Ulrich in this office. The War of the Spanish Succession forced them to flee to Switzerland in 1703. In 1706 he became a deacon in St. Peter in Zurich. In the following years he took on a number of offices within the city, including from 1711 as head of school and 1713 as carer in the alms office. In 1718 he was elected Antistes of the Zurich Church and became pastor in the Grossmünster. In the last few years, Johann Ludwig Nüscheler could no longer carry out his office in Zurich since he suffered a stroke in 1731. He remained officially in office until his death in 1737.
