Johann Marihart (born December 8, 1950 in Eggenburg , Lower Austria ) is an Austrian manager and CEO of AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG .

Education and career

Marihart attended the Bundesgymnasium Horn , where he graduated in 1969. He then began his studies in technical chemistry , specializing in biotechnology at the Vienna University of Technology , which he completed in 1975 with the academic degree of Diplom-Ingenieur . Marihart began his professional career in the sugar industry in 1975 at the Agrana sugar factory in Leopoldsdorf in Marchfelde . In 1976 he moved to the factory in Gmünd , where he was promoted to factory manager via laboratory work and collaboration in research and development . Marihart has been a member of Agrana's board of directors since 1988 and has been its chairman since 1992. Under his leadership, the Wiener Zucker brand was introduced in 1994 .

More functions

In addition to his work at Agrana, Marihart held many other functions in business. He is a member of the board of Südzucker AG Mannheim / Ochsenfurt , president of the CEFS (Committee of European Sugar Manufacturers ) in Brussels, president of the ÖVP -related industrial association of Lower Austria, general councilor of the Austrian National Bank and university council of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences . Marihart is also a member of the supervisory board of various companies and president of the supervisory board of the Spanish Riding School as well as the same position in TÜV Austria .
