Johann Nikolaus Misler (* 1614 in Munzenberg ; † February 20, 1683 in Gießen ) was a German Lutheran theologian .

Life

After studying at the University of Marburg , Misler first became a teacher and archdeacon there . In 1652 he moved to the University of Giessen as a professor of Hebrew and theology . There he was promoted to Dr. theol. doctorate and moved up to Professor Primarius in 1676.

His son was the theologian Johann Hartmann Misler (1642–1698), from 1691 Superintendent of the Duchy of Verden. His son-in-law was the orientalist and theologian David Clodius (1644–1684).
