Johann Philipp de Beaupre

Johann Philipp de Beaupre (* 1657 in Brye ; † June 18, 1716 in Potsdam ) was a major general in Brandenburg and commander of Infantry Regiment No. 13 .

He was in French service as a lieutenant in 1675, but with the repeal of the Edict of Nantes he switched to Kurbrandenburg services. There he became a captain in the Varenne battalion in 1692, which was mainly composed of French emigrants. During the War of the Palatinate Succession he fought against the French. On October 25, 1695 he became a major and on June 10, 1702 a lieutenant colonel. When the War of the Spanish Succession broke out in 1702 , he fought against the French in Italy. Until the end of the war in 1713 he was colonel on July 6, 1706, on January 29, 1709 commander of the regiment and on February 2, 1712 brigadier of the infantry. On December 20, 1715 he was promoted to major general. After the war, the troops were stationed in Moers. There he formed the Varenne regiment and then the Pannwitz regiment.

But he died on June 18, 1716 in Potsdam.
