Ilie Datcu (born July 20, 1937 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian football goalkeeper and coach. He played a total of 306 games in the Romanian Divizia A and the Turkish Süper Lig . The goalkeeper won the Romanian championship with Dinamo Bucharest in 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965 and the Turkish championship with Fenerbahçe Istanbul in 1970, 1974 and 1975 .

Career

Datcu came to Dinamo Obor Bucharest , the second team of Dinamo Bucharest , who played in Divizia B at the time, in 1959 . In 1961 he came to Dinamo's first team in Divizia A . There he was able to win the championship in 1962 in his first season . He was able to repeat this success with his team in the following three seasons. In 1964 he achieved the national double by winning the cup . After 1965 he and his team still belonged to the Romanian top class, but had to give way to the competition. During this time, another title followed with winning the cup .

In the summer of 1969, Datcu got the opportunity to move abroad and joined the Turkish club Fenerbahçe Istanbul . There he won the championship in 1970 in his first year . After two more championships and a success in the Turkish Cup , he left the club in 1975 after he was no longer available in the 1974/75 season . After a season for Giresunspor , he ended his career in 1976.

National team

Datcu played six games for the Romanian national team . He made his debut on May 12, 1963 in a friendly against the GDR and was also in goal in the other two games of the year. Then it took more than three years before he represented Mihai Ionescu in the European Championship qualifier against Italy on November 26, 1966 . On May 24, 1967 he came in the 1: 7 defeat against Switzerland for his last use.

Datcu has two older children, a daughter, Corina (* 1964) from his first marriage and a son, Kerem-Christopher (* 1983) from his second marriage. He currently lives in Bodrum .
