Johann Rudolf Suter (politician)
Johann Rudolf Suter (born June 21, 1845 in Zofingen ; † December 17, 1917 in Windisch ; resident in Zofingen) was a Swiss politician ( liberal ).
Life
Suter visited the Old Kantonsschule Aarau and made the Matura in Basel . He then studied at the ETH Zurich and ran a Turkish red dye factory with his father until 1889 . As a member of the Zofingen school administration , he set up a girls 'district school and the teachers' pension fund . For 14 years Suter worked as a commercial judge in Aargau and from 1880 until his death he was a liberal Aargau Councilor , which he presided over in 1889/1990. In the years 1884/1885 he was active as a constitutional councilor. The colonel of the infantry sat from 1901 to 1917 in the National Council and represented the National Council Constituency Aargau-southwest . He tried to repay the remaining debt from the national railway bankruptcy of 1878. The federal government rejected the request, but was finally ready to lower the interest rate.
