Johann Rupert
Johann Rupert (born June 1, 1950 in Stellenbosch ) is a South African entrepreneur .
Life
His parents were the South African entrepreneurs Anton Rupert and Huberte Rupert. Rupert heads the Swiss company Richemont . According to the US American Forbes Magazine , Rupert is one of the richest South Africans in 2012 and is listed in The World's Billionaires . Rupert is married with three children and lives in Somerset West , South Africa .
Johann Rupert is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the luxury goods manufacturer Richemont and of the Remgro Holding , which is also controlled by his family and which, among other things, owns the Swiss private hospital group Hirslanden . Via the Luxembourg-based Reinet Investments SCA, which is controlled by the Rupert family, the family also holds shares worth four billion Swiss francs in British American Tobacco and thus earns dividends in the three-digit million range every year.
