Johann Samuel Trommsdorff

Johann Samuel Trommsdorff , also Tromsdorf (born September 22, 1676 in Alperstedt , † April 13, 1713 in Erfurt ) was a German Protestant theologian and philosopher.

Life

Trommsdorff received his master's degree in Erfurt in 1697. In 1699 he became a deacon, from 1703 pastor at St. Andrew's Church , which he remained until his death in April 1713. He was also a professor of theology at the University of Erfurt . He was the author of several secular and spiritual writings.

As a deacon, he married on October 24, 1699 in his Andreaskirche Martha Juditha Andreae (baptized April 21, 1681; † March 17, 1754), the daughter of Johann Wilhelm Andreae (1642–1683). Both sons were the pharmacist Jakob Hieronymus Trommsdorff (1708–1768), his grandson the physician and chemist Wilhelm Bernhard Trommsdorff (1738–1782), his great grandson the pharmacist Johann Bartholomäus Trommsdorff (1770–1837).
