Andreas Church (Erfurt)
The Andreaskirche is a Gothic church on Andreasstrasse in the old town of Erfurt . The surrounding district of Andreasviertel and the northern district of Andreasvorstadt are named after her . The St. Andrew's Church is now a Protestant parish church.
history
The Andreas Church was first mentioned in a document in 1182. Construction of a new church began in 1210 and was completed around 1370. The Reformation was introduced in 1522, and the St. Andrew's Church has been Protestant ever since. In 1604 it merged with the neighboring parish of Moritzkirche and in 1973 with the parish of Michaeliskirche . The wooden model of the epitaph for Martin Luther has been in the Andreaskirche since 1727 .
organ
The organ was built 1987–1989 by A. Voigt (Bad Liebenwerda) in the historic organ case from 1787, with some pipe material from this predecessor organ, which was built by Johann Georg Kummer ( Dachwig ), being reused. The instrument has 25 stops on two manuals and a pedal . The actions are mechanical.
