The Moritzkirche was a parish church in the old town of Erfurt . It was located at Moritzstrasse 26/27 in the north of the old town.

history

The Moritzkirche was first mentioned in a document in 1193. The later church was a Gothic parish church, the tower of which was built in 1505. After the Reformation was introduced in Erfurt in 1525, the Moritzkirche became Protestant. In 1604 their congregation was merged with that of the Andreas Church and the Moritz Church was no longer used. During the Thirty Years War , the Swedish occupiers demolished the church in 1633 to extract building materials. Only the tower remained. This was demolished in 1814.
