Vitikirche (Erfurt)
The Vitikirche was a parish church in the old town of Erfurt . It was on the corner of the government road to the Long Bridge in the southwest of the old town.
history
The Vitikirche was built between 1210 and 1221 in the Gothic style and replaced a previous building. In 1399 it was destroyed in a fire. The subsequent reconstruction made progress only in 1470; the new church was consecrated in 1570 . Already in 1530 the church was formally assigned to the Protestant denomination, but not yet used.
The church was used as a place of worship until 1716, after which it was converted into a tool shed. It was demolished in 1809, only the sacristy has been preserved to this day.
