Johann Scheibe (* around 1675; † September 3, 1748 in Leipzig ) was a German organ builder .

It is believed that Scheibe was born in Zschortau . From 1705 he worked as an organ and instrument maker in Leipzig. On behalf of the University of Leipzig he worked as a "university organ maker". He carried out expansions and repairs to existing organs and built several new organs in and outside Leipzig. Johann Sebastian Bach accepted several of his new organs. According to Johann Friedrich Agricola , a student of Bach , the new organ in the Johanniskirche in Leipzig was “after the strictest examination that has ever been carried out on an organ, by Mr. CM Joh. Seb. Bach, and Mr. Zacharias Hildebrand recognized as impeccable. "

He was married to Anna Rosine Hess. His son was the composer and music writer Johann Adolf Scheibe .
