Johann Schenen
Johann Schenen (rails) (* around 1470 in Zell (Mosel) ; † June 9, 1544 in Trier ) was a German abbot in the St. Marien monastery in Trier.
Life
Like his uncle, Auxiliary Bishop Nicolausbahnen Trier, he came from Zell on the Moselle. This family group also included John III. Rails from Zell , who was also abbot in Trier. Johann Schenen was elected abbot of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Marien in Trier in 1526 and held this office until his death in 1544. A precious gospel book with gems that he had bound has been since the siege of Trier in 1552 by Margrave Albrecht from Brandenburg can no longer be found.
