Johann Schnitzhofer

Johann Schnitzhofer (born May 25, 1970 ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He has been a member of the Salzburg state parliament since 2013 .

education and profession

Schnitzhofer attended the Radochsberg elementary school between 1976 and 1980 and then completed secondary school in Abtenau between 1980 and 1984 . In 1984 he switched to the agricultural college in Winklhof , where he continued his training from 1986 at the higher federal college for alpine agriculture in Ursprung (municipality of Elixhausen ). He then worked for the Raiffeisen Association Salzburg in 1991 and was then active as a municipal environmental advisor for the communities of Abtenau, Annaberg, Rußbach, Kuchl and Scheffau from 1991 to 2012. In addition, between 1996 and 1998 he completed an apprenticeship as a dairy and cheese maker in Rotholz and in 1996 took over the management of the Schnitzhof in Abtenau.

Politics and functions

Schnitzhofer was chairman of the rural youth from 1989 to 1991 and was elected member of the ÖVP-Abtenau parliamentary group in 1995 and to the local committee of the Abtenau peasantry in the Chamber of Agriculture in 2000. He has also been a member of the board of the Salzburg Chamber of Agriculture since 2010 and a member of the agricultural employers' association, delegated by the Chamber of Agriculture since 2011. After the ÖVP member of the state parliament Josef Schwarzenbacher no longer stood in the state elections in 2013 , Schnitzhofer was acted as his designated successor in the run-up to the election and was placed in third place of the ÖVP in the constituency of Tennengau. Schnitzhofer was sworn in as a member of the state parliament in the Salzburg state parliament on June 19, 2013 and acts as area spokesman for rural areas / leaders and hunting in the ÖVP state parliament club.

He has also been a board member of the Abtenau Tourist Office since 1999 and chairman of the Abtenau Tourist Office since 2009. He is also a member of the Abtenau Sports Union and chairman of the Postalm water cooperative.

Private

Schnitzhofer is married and has a son and a daughter.
