action

Lucas is a wealthy businessman who, however, has had no luck with women in the past. After a broken love, he fell into depression four years ago and brought his company to the brink of ruin; his wife, in turn, has left him with their son and is now leading a custody battle against Lucas in the USA. One day Lucas meets the artist Elsa in the foyer of his company, who is to create a ceramic fresco for the floor of the hall on his behalf . Lucas immediately falls in love with Elsa, but at the same time annoys her because the fresco was originally supposed to be significantly larger and he now doesn't seem to like the relatively small floor picture. Elsa packs her things and leaves. However, since Lucas wants to see her again, he makes it clear to her that he has never withdrawn the assignment. Over dinner, Elsa agrees to continue working because she needs the money.

To prevent a depression like a few years ago, Lucas private detective Roland Christin sets on Elsa. The former secret agent not only bugs Elsa, but also installs cameras in her apartment and scans her business and private life. Lucas soon knows everything about Elsa, who lives with her cousin and has a little nephew. To be able to talk to her about ceramics, Lucas has the famous ceramist Professor Della Ponte fly in from Italy, who gives him a brief introduction to ceramics. With this knowledge, Lucas finally comes up trumps at dinner with Elsa, who, however, reacts irritated that Lucas can so easily dispose of important people. Both end up in their apartment, but Lucas reacts inhibited because he knows that the apartment has numerous cameras. He finally leaves in a rush and Elsa keeps her distance from now on.

Because his colleague Jeanne Larozière is doing business hostile to the company behind his back, Lucas fires her. After spending the night with Lucas, Elsa also fell in love with him. However, Larozière reveals to her in revenge that she is monitored by Lucas around the clock. Lucas has meanwhile ordered that Roland Christin break off the surveillance. Elsa surprises him in her apartment when he is removing the cameras and breaks up with Lucas a little later. He falls into deep depression. Videos secretly recorded in his apartment, which show Lucas devastated, Roland finally passes to Elsa, who now realizes that Lucas really loves her. Before he leaves for the United States to fight for his son, the two make up in a hotel - with Roland again keeping a watchful eye on them.
