Count Johann Siegmund zu Lynar (* October 27, 1616 ; † August 28, 1665 ) was a privy councilor of Brandenburg , colonel of the infantry, commander of the city of Frankfurt an der Oder and district judge in Lower Lusatia, state elder of the Kalau district and lord of the rule of Lübbenau and Glinicke .

Life

His parents were the privy councilor Johann Kasimir zu Lynar and Elisabeth Distelmeyer daughter of the Brandenburg chancellor Christian Distelmeyer . General Rochus zu Lynar was his grandfather.

As early as 1621, his mother had bought the Lübbenau estate and the Glinicke next to it and later handed it over to her son. He shot the last bear there around 1650.

He also fought in the Thirty Years War . First he was sent to the court of Emperor Ferdinand as an envoy and then fought on the imperial side. This was also the case in 1642 in the Battle of Breitenfeld, where he was already among the dead with 23 wounds before he was found.

In 1659 he became a privy councilor and colonel of an infantry regiment as well as commander of Frankfurt an der Oder. His regiment was 10 companies strong and was partly in Stendal and partly in Frankfurt. He died in 1665.
