Johann Textor

Johann Textor , historian (born September 1582 in Haiger ; † October 30, 1626 at the plague in Dillenburg ) was a German lawyer and historian .

Johann Textor attended the Haiger Latin School (from 1588) and then the Dillenburg (from 1590), Siegen (from 1597) and Herborn (from 1599) pedagogies . He studied law in Herborn (from 1601) and Heidelberg (1604 to 1607). From 1608 he was town clerk in Haiger as the successor to his cousin Johann Pithan. From 1619 he was town clerk in Dillenburg as the successor to his father-in-law Conrad Geis [s] e. Textor is known as the author of the "Nassau Chronicle", which was printed in Herborn in 1617.

Johann Textor's first marriage (around 1608/09) was married to Anna Jacobe Geis [s] e from Dillenburg (* 1584). In 1623, he married Anna Maria Rein from Berleburg , a chambermaid and court pharmacist at the castle of Dillenburg († 1624). In his third marriage he was married to Anna Elisabeth Hirtz, the widow of the mayor Cyriacus Göst in Haiger (* around 1575).
