Johann Ulrich Rümelin (born August 10, 1582 in Tübingen ; † October 28, 1670 in Stuttgart ) was a Württemberg lawyer and professor and rector of the University of Tübingen .

Life

Johann Ulrich Rümelin was born on August 10, 1582 as the first son of court attorney and procurator Martin Rümelin (* approx. 1552 in Ebingen , † 1597 in Tübingen) and his wife Margarete born. Epp (* approx. 1549, † 1612 in Tübingen) born. He studied in Tübingen from 1596. From 1632 he was professor of law in Tübingen, assessor at the Württemberg court, and first law teacher at Tübingen University. In 1637, 1639 and 1642/43 he was rector of the University of Tübingen.

His portrait, painted by Conrad Melberger in 1631 , is in the Tübingen Professorengalerie .
