Johann Wilhelm von Leliwa

Johann Wilhelm von Leliwa (* around 1658; † March 26, 1724 in Schloss Höhnscheid ) was a German colonel , builder and garden architect .

Life

Leliwa was listed in the nobility lexicon from 1683 to 1688. He came from a Polish noble family. In 1720, the retired colonel from Prince Friedrich Anton Ulrich von Waldeck and Pyrmont acquired Höhnscheid Castle near Arolsen and then had it converted into a baroque castle. He died on March 26, 1724 in Hönscheidt at the age of 66.

Leliwa commissioned the builder Julius Ludwig Rothweil , who had a two-winged manor house built with a farmyard and surrounding baroque garden .
