Johann Wollinger

Johann Wollinger (born February 13, 1915 in Vienna ; † September 17, 1965 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and a Viennese city councilor.

Wollinger studied at the University of Vienna and received his doctorate in 1940. He was then a court assessor until 1941 and subsequently did his military service until 1945. Between 1943 and 1945 he was one of the leading functionaries of the Austrian resistance movement and headed a large group of academics. After the end of the Second World War, Wollinger was Chief Ministerial Commissioner in the Federal Ministry of Education between 1945 and 1948, and in 1948 he moved to the Chamber of Commerce for Vienna as Managing Director of the Trade Section and Academic Department . Wollinger also worked as a journalist and gave radio lectures.

From October 17, 1954 to October 21, 1958, Wollinger was a member of the Vienna state parliament and local council . On December 19, 1964, he was elected to the governing councilor for urban enterprises in the Jonas IV state government and was also a member of the following state government, Marek I, until his death. Wollinger died in 1965 after months of serious illness. Due to Wollinger's illness, his successor Maria Schaumayer had already taken over his representation on June 2, 1965. After his death, Wollinger was buried in an honorary grave in the Meidlinger Friedhof .

Since 1934 he was a member of the Catholic student association KaV Norica Vienna in the ÖCV .
