Johann von Brackel

Johann von Brackel († 1651 ) was knighthood captain of the Estonian knighthood from 1644 to 1647 .

He was a member of the Baltic noble family Brackel . His parents were Johann von Brackel († sp. 1626) and Dorothea von Bremen († before 1622).

In 1620 Brackel was enrolled in Helmstedt . After his studies he entered the Swedish service and was initially captain of the Ingermannland aristocratic flag. In 1636 Brackel was a member of the court assessor in Wierland . From 1644 to 1647 he was knighthood captain of the Estonian knighthood, then until 1650 district administrator in Estonia .

Johann von Brackel was the heir to the farm and village of Aitz and to Gut Maidel in the parish of Luggenhusen . From 1632 he also owned the Soickina estate in Ingermanland, which he had built, where he temporarily took up residence. He also owned a house in Narva and pledged a hook of land in the village of Oiamas.

Brackel was married to Anna von Wachtmeister (* 1611, † 1685), but the marriage remained childless. He was buried on July 30, 1651 in the Nikolai Church in Reval .
