Johanna Kühl

Johanna Kühl (born January 27, 1980 in Lübeck ) is a German-Swedish fashion designer . In 2004 she founded the Kaviar Gauche fashion label in Berlin together with Alexandra Roehler .

Life

Johanna Kühl studied from 1999 to 2001 at the Stockholm fashion school Tillkärarakademi and also worked as a pattern engineer and design assistant for Jenny Hellström . In 2002 she completed a four-month internship at Vivienne Westwood in London. Then she began to study fashion design at the ESMOD fashion school in Berlin and graduated in May 2003 as a qualified designer. After completing her studies, she worked as a design assistant for Martine Sitbon in Paris. In 2004 she founded the Kaviar Gauche fashion label with Alexandra Roehler . The two of them had already got to know each other during their studies at ESMOD in Berlin. They presented their first joint collection unannounced as a so-called guerrilla fashion show during the prêt-à-porter shows in front of the Colette concept store at Paris Fashion Week on Rue Saint-Honoré.

In 2010 the magazine “ Stern ” selected Alexandra Roehler and Johanna Kühl with their fashion label Kaviar Gauche among the “10 most important German fashion designers”.
