Johanna Zugmann
Johanna Zugmann (* 1954 in Vienna ) is an Austrian journalist and non-fiction author. In 1988 she was a founding editorial member of the daily newspaper Der Standard and headed the career section there .
Life
Johanna Zugmann was born in Vienna as the youngest of six children of an Austrian diplomat and a Swiss fashion designer. While studying interpreting (English, Spanish), Zugmann worked in Europe and overseas as a tour guide and incoming manager before embarking on a journalistic career in 1980. In addition to her work as editor of the weekly “die industrie”, she also wrote articles for the business magazines “ trend ” and “trendprofil-Extra”. In 1988 Zugmann joined the daily newspaper Der Standard as a founding member , where she first worked as an editor for the economic department and then for the weekend supplement ALBUM. In 1990 the journalist was promoted to department head of the career standard she had designed , and from February 2003 she was also responsible for the editorial content of the weekly supplement Education & Career.
From 1998 to 2001 Zugmann oversaw an online career lounge, and in 1999 she started a series of events in which career decision-makers, business captains, headhunters, HR managers and readers form a network. In 2000, FAZ-Verlag published her bestseller “The ICH Share”, which she wrote together with Werner Lanthaler. This was followed in 2002 by the book “Career Plan Vienna - Success, Stay Authentic”, published by Falter Verlag. In 2004, Zugmann switched to the daily newspaper Die Presse . Since September 2014 she has been working as a freelance writer, moderator and lecturer.
Johanna Zugmann's first marriage was to the photographer Gerald Zugmann . Since 1993 she has lived in Vienna with her second husband, the musician and festival director Thomas Bieber.
