The trend (stylized as "trend" by the magazine) is Austria's largest business magazine by circulation. Since 1970 it has been aimed at those interested in business and entrepreneurs. Under the motto “We move the economy”, the magazine reports weekly on current economic developments and their backgrounds, asks decision-makers, offers analyzes and comments, portrays company leaders and gives competent tips on investment, careers and culture.

The trend and the online offer trend.at appear in VGN Medien Holding, Austria's largest magazine publisher. The editors-in-chief are Andreas Weber and Andreas Lampl.

history

The trend was founded in 1970 by journalist Oscar Bronner, who a little later also founded the news magazine Profil and in 1988 the daily newspaper Der Standard. From the beginning, the magazine pursued the claim to look behind the scenes of the economy and to bring the makers and decision-makers in front of the curtain - which still applies today. In 1974 Bronner gradually sold his shares to the courier. In 2000/2001 the trend came through the merger of the Kurier-Magazin subsidiary ZVB with the news group to form today's VGN Medien Holding. Since the merger with the weekly magazine Format 2016, which was also published by VGN, the trend has been published weekly.

content

The trend is known u. a. for its rankings, for example about the richest Austrians, the best employers and the lawyer and doctor ranking, as well as for being voted “Man of the Year” (see list below) and the “Top 500 Companies”, Austria's most comprehensive data collection on the largest domestic company. The weekly business magazine is supplemented by special issues such as the E-Trend (current trends in digitization and information technology), Trend.invest (focus on investments and assets) and Career Guide (sic) (tips for professional advancement and further education). The trend provides information on current events with an online newsletter.
