Johanne von Gemmingen

Johanne von Gemmingen born Petershagen (born June 10, 1901 in Schwetzingen , † September 13, 2001 in Ulm ) was a German writer. In particular, she wrote children's books and fairy tales.

Life

After attending secondary school in Ulm and the early death of her father, she worked for the army administration and then for the Neu-Ulmer Zeitung , where she did regional reporting as well as film and theater reviews and book reviews. After the Second World War, she worked for a youth book publisher from 1946 to 1951, after which she worked as an author for fairy tales and radio plays for Südwestfunk and Bayern 1 .

family

On October 3, 1932, she married Joachim Eberhard von Gemmingen (1893–1967) in Ulm , who had three children born between 1915 and 1920 from his first marriage with Marianne von Palm (1889–1977), who had divorced in 1930. The daughter Kristin, born in 1938, came from his marriage to Johanne. The couple later split up. Johanne stayed with her daughter in Neu-Ulm while her husband lived in Munich.
