Johannes Adorf

Johannes Adorf (* in Adorf / Vogtl. , † October 6, 1505 in Ingolstadt ; actually Johannes Permetter ) was a German Catholic theologian.

Career

Adorf studied in Leipzig. At the invitation of the Bavarian Duke Ludwig the Rich , he came to the University of Ingolstadt , where he was the first doctoral candidate in the theological faculty and the university in 1473. Immediately after completing his studies, he became professor of theology and dean of the faculty. Adorf held the Dean's office thirty-one times and the Rector's office ten times. He was also a pastor at the Marienkirche . He was also buried in the choir of the church. In his will, Adorf donated four scholarships for theology students that were awarded until the 18th century.
