Johannes Behr (geologist)
Julius Paul Johannes Behr (born June 22, 1875 in Langenberg ; † 1973 ) was a German geologist . He was department head for practical geologist at the Prussian State Geological Institute and most recently at the Reich Office for Soil Research .
Life
He was born as the son of the superintendent and senior preacher Ernst Behr and his wife Adeline. Clieter was born in Langenberg near Gera and grew up in Buttstädt . After attending the Wilhelm-Ernst-Gymnasium in Gera and the Gymnasium in Weimar, he studied at the University of Jena . He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and initially worked as an assistant at the Mineralogical Institute in Jena. In 1903 Johannes Behr got a job as an extra-budgetary geologist at the Prussian Geological State Institute in Berlin, where he became director in 1934, after he had already been appointed a royal district lie in 1912 . He was also a member of the examination committee for geological state exams. When the state institute was closed in 1939, it was transferred to the Reich Office for Soil Research, which in 1941 became the Reich Office for Soil Research . In 1937 he was named Professor of Applied Geology for Economics and Technology.
Julius Behr was a member of the German Geological Society and the German Ceramic Society. He lived in Berlin-Friedenau

Johannes Behr married Elsa, born Heister, in Ostheim an der Rhön in 1908. The son Heinrich (* 1909) emerged from the marriage.
