John Brenner (born January 3 . Jul / 16th January 1906 greg. In Mäo , Governorate of Estonia ; † 9. September 1975 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) was an Estonian footballer .
Career
Johannes Brenner began his football career in 1920 with JK Tallinna Kalev with whom he became Estonian champion in 1923. He won two more national championship titles in 1926 and 1928 with the Tallinna Jalgpalliklubi , where he moved in 1925. The Striker burner shot ironically, throughout his playing days as a footballer just one goal in the first Estonian league.
In June 1923, Brenner made his debut as the youngest national player to date at the age of 17 years and 159 days in the Estonian national team against Lithuania . This record lasted in Estonia until 2001, when Jarmo Ahjupera (17 years 82 days) undercut it.
In 1925 and 1926, Brenner did not play any international matches, only again from 1927 under the Hungarian coach Antal Mally . Mally coached the Estonian national soccer team in 1927 and 1935.
The last of a total of 16 international matches, in which he scored a total of 4 goals, Brenner made during the Baltic Cup in 1930 against Lithuania.
Later years
Johannes Brenner ended his football career in 1930 at the age of 24. From then on he concentrated on his profession as a pilot in the Estonian Air Force .
With the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1941, Brenner was drafted into the Red Army as an Air Force mechanic . He survived World War II and died in Tallinn in 1975.
