Johannes C. Weiss

Johannes Chrysostomos Weiss (born March 26, 1953 in Ehingen (Danube) , † March 7, 2006 in Munich ) was a German journalist.

Life

Johannes Weiss studied Catholic theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . There he became a member of the KDStV Tuiskonia in the CV in 1972 . From 1974 to 1975 he was chairman of the Munich CV. From 1975 to 1976 he headed the CV student union as the suburb's president.

After completing his studies, he worked for Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) from 1981 , where he became head of the Central Program Coordination Department . With the start of German private television , he moved to Sat.1 as program director in 1990 . After disputes with the Sat 1 shareholder Leo Kirch about the purchase of Tele 5 , Weiss left Sat.1 after a few years and worked as an independent television producer (teletime television production).

Johannes C. Weiss developed the talk show concept Fliege in 1994 and was the producer of the ARD talk show with Jürgen Fliege on behalf of all state broadcasters and under the direction of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. The format received a Bambi in 1996 and was broadcast until 2005. In 1995 Jürgen Fliege and Johannes C. Weiss founded the Fliege Foundation .

He was also the longstanding editor of the CV magazine Academia .

Weiss was married and the father of four. He died of complications from cancer.
