Johannes Haß (born September 24, 1873 in Kiel , † November 7, 1945 in Berlin ; spelling also Hass ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and trade unionist.

Life

Johannes Haß was a trained lithographer . From 1904 he was chairman of the association of lithographs-stone printers for 30 years. In the Weimar Republic he was a member of the Berlin city council from 1920 for the SPD and in this capacity from 1924 to 1933 also head of city council. During the time of the National Socialist dictatorship, Hass was arrested several times and ultimately died of the consequences of his imprisonment.

Honors

His grave in the Wilmersdorf cemetery has been an honorary grave for the State of Berlin since 1965 .
