Johannes Kirmse

Ernst Johannes Kirmse (born August 4, 1876 ; † December 30, 1930 ) was a Leipzig football pioneer and sports official.

Life

At the age of 17, Kirmse founded the Leipzig cycling and athletic club “Sportbrüder” together with Albert Rößler on November 11, 1893. Along with Theodor Schöffler, he was one of the "forefathers" of VfB Leipzig and from 1898 to 1900 chairman of the Leipzig Ball Game Association . On January 4, 1900, in this capacity, he invited the "I. General German Football Day ”, which was to take place on January 27 and 28, 1900 in the Leipzig restaurant“ Zum Mariengarten ”.
