Johannes Kunz (police officer)

Johannes Kunz (born November 26, 1957 in Hachenburg ) has been President of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office in Mainz since March 2015 .

Kunz began in 1976 in the Rhineland-Palatinate Police in the Middle service . In 1985 he was promoted to the higher service . After completing his training, he headed the criminal investigation department in Wissen and Betzdorf . In 1990 he was admitted to training for the higher police enforcement service at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster-Hiltrup.After graduating in 1993, he was employed in various functions at the Koblenz Police Headquarters , before becoming a consultant for police data protection in the Ministry of the Interior in 2000 , for sport and infrastructure in Rhineland-Palatinate . From 2006 to 2015 he was head of the department for training and further education of the police and data protection. On March 1, 2015 he was appointed President of the State Office of Criminal Investigation.
