Johannes Pietzonka

Johannes Pietzonka (born December 31, 1904 in Mittweida ; † June 6, 1989 in Thum ) was a German teacher and local researcher . In particular, his research on the Erzgebirge game shooter and folk hero Karl Stülpner made him famous.

Life

Pietzonka came to the Ore Mountains in the 1920s, was a teacher at the German commercial high school in Russe from 1932 to 1936 and from 1940 a teacher in Großolbersdorf . As a result of the denazification , he worked as a forest worker and miner from 1945. In 1952 he was able to resume teaching, first in Wolkenstein and then in Großolbersdorf.

From 1952 he dealt with the life of Karl Stülpner. In 1963 his biography " Der Wildschütz Karl Stülpner " appeared for the first time. A second edition of the book did not take place until 1973 after a favorable opinion by the literary scholar Klaus Walther . Pietzonka's merit is the research into the “dark chapters” in Stülpner's life and the integration of his rebellion into the social and political environment of the situation in the Ore Mountains at that time.

Due to his excellent language skills, he translated technical texts into Russian and was also involved in the translation of Russian texts.

In the area of ​​local history research, in addition to the person of Stülpner, he devoted himself to nickname research in Großolbersdorf.
