Johannes Prelle

Johannes Karl Wilhelm Gustav Prelle (born June 14, 1875 in Prezelle ; † January 19, 1947 in Winsen (Aller) ) was a German theologian and politician ( DHP ).

Life

Prelle was born the son of a pastor. After graduating from high school Johanneum Lüneburg , he studied Protestant theology at the universities of Erlangen , Berlin and Göttingen . He then worked for nine years as a chaplain for Inner Mission . During the First World War he was chaplain from October 1, 1914 to June 1, 1916. From 1916 to 1924 he was second pastor and then until 1945 first pastor at the Neustädter Hof- und Stadtkirche St. Johannis in Hanover . After 1933 he was a member of the Confessing Church .

In addition to his pastoral work, Prelle was a board member of the Association of Evangelical Workers and People's Associations Lower Saxony, honorary chairman of the committee of the Association of Hanoverian Young Girls' Associations, board member of the state association for internal mission in Hanover, board member of the Friederikenstift in Hanover and member of the Hanoverian Land Association.

Prelle joined the German-Hanover Party (DHP) and from 1919 to 1921 was a member of the Prussian Constituent Assembly for the administrative districts of Hanover, Hildesheim and Lüneburg . In February 1921 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until 1932. From 1924 to 1928 was a member of the Economic Association and from 1928 to 1932 of the German parliamentary group . In parliament he represented constituency 15 (East Hanover).
