Johannes Riedel is a former German ski jumper .

Career

From 1948 Riedel belonged to the ski section of SG Pöhla, of which he became the first section head. In his first Four Hills Tournament in 1961/62 he only reached a weak 46th place on the Bergiselschanze in Innsbruck . At the end of the tour he landed in Bischofshofen on the 16th place and with these two results reached the 70th place in the overall ranking. He repeated this overall rank in the following Four Hills Tournament in 1962/63 , although he only competed in the jumping in Innsbruck, but jumped back to 16th place after Bischofshofen last year.

In 1974 (according to Ortschronik 1973) the "Erzgebirgsmattentournee" was launched on the Pöhlbachschanze at the initiative of Riedel, the VEB Waschgerätewerkes Schwarzenberg and the former SED district management , which is still actively carried out today.
