Johannes Rippe , real name Johann Philipp Rippe (* 1838 in Bremen ; † May 11, 1908 in Bremen) was a German architect and building inspector.

biography

After graduating, Rippe was an influential building officer as a master builder and building inspector for the Bremen building administration. Until 1876 he worked under the building director Alexander Schröder in the Bremen building administration.

In collaboration with Schröder (until 1876), Rippe designed numerous buildings in the neo-Gothic style . In later years he also designed in the Neo-Renaissance style .

From around 1872 he was a critical member of the Bremen citizenship .

  • 1869: Friedenskirche on Humboldtstrasse in the eastern suburb (neo-Gothic)
  • 1873–1876: Secondary school at the Doventorscontrescarpe (destroyed in the war)
  • 1874: Oslebshausen correctional facility (JVA) in Oslebshausen (neo-Gothic)
  • 1875: Riensberg cemetery chapel , cemetery supervisor's house and morgue in the Riensberg cemetery (neo-Gothic)
  • 1876: Schwachhausen community school, Schwachhauser Heerstr. 233 (destroyed by war)
  • 1876: Jakobikirche with pastor's house on Kirchweg in Neustadt (neo-Gothic)
  • 1877: Maritime School on Neustadtswall, destroyed in 1944
  • 1878: Wilhadikirche on Nordstrasse in Walle (neo-Gothic)
  • 1881/82: Extension of the elementary school at Neustadtswall 80 by 6 classes (original building 1861/62 by Alexander Schröder) (destroyed in the war)
  • 1882: Kahrweg asylum for poor sick people at Nordstrasse 116 in Bremen-Walle, destroyed in 1944
  • 1882: Reconstruction of the Am Wall city theater (destroyed in the war)
  • 1883: Zollhaus Am Hulsberg , at that time collecting house for the consumption tax, Am Hulsberg 136 at the corner of Stader Straße (neo-Gothic)
  • 1885: State Chemical Laboratory on Neustadtswall (destroyed)
  • 1897: Ad cigar factory. Hagens on the Teerhof , destroyed in 1944.
  • 1908: Preserved Immanuel Chapel , Elisabethstrasse 17/18 in Walle (neo-Gothic)
