history

On the border between Bremen and the district Hastedt in the province of Hannover in the Kingdom of Prussia one were Konsumptionssteuer levied. At the three piles (now a street name) the transition at the old state border was mentioned.

The old elevators' house (near the three piles 11) was badly damaged and demolished in the flood of 1881. As a replacement, the new, clinkered, two-storey building with its striking stepped gable was built in 1883 as No. 13 in the era of historicism in the neo-Gothic style . In 1891/92 the tax law was revised; until then the tax was levied here.

From 1907 to the late 1960s, the Hastedt auxiliary school with four classes was located in the building . From 1913 it was a branch of the auxiliary school on Mainstrasse . She was later given independence again.

The BDP youth center of the Association of German Scouts has been located in the building since 1983 . A cooperation with the elementary school on Stader Straße also provides offers for elementary school students.
