Johannes Schneider (theologian, 1956)

Johannes Schneider OFM (born June 25, 1956 in Schwaz ) is an Austrian Franciscan and theological author .

Life

Schneider studied painting from 1975 to 1977 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna . In 1977 he began his theology studies and entered the Franciscan order. He was ordained a priest in 1982 . After studying at St. Bonaventure University in Allegany , New York (1983/84), he devoted himself to pastoral care and training. Schneider then studied between 1989 and 1993 at the Pontifical Athenaeum Antonianum in Rome and graduated as Dr. theol. Since then he has been active in pastoral care and research in Austria. He is a corresponding member of the International Marian Pontifical Academy .
