Johannes Szelinski

Johannes Szelinski (born November 28, 1911 in Berlin ; † March 14, 2003 ibid) was a German journalist as well as dialogue author and dialogue director in film dubbing .

Life

Szelinski began studying at the Berlin School of Politics in 1929 . His teachers included Emil Dovifat for newspaper studies and Theodor Heuss for political science . From 1930 to 1933 he worked as an editor at the Hessischer Kurier in Kassel and from 1934 at the North German Shepherd Newspaper . Between 1940 and 1947 he did military service and was in captivity.

In the period from 1948 to 1956 he worked as a journalist, among other things as a reporter and series author for the publishing house Der Tagesspiegel and for the magazine Stern . From 1954 he worked part-time and then from 1957 full-time as a dialogue writer in film dubbing for Ultra Film Berlin and for Berliner Synchron GmbH. Since 1962 he has also directed the dialogue. In total, Johannes Szelinski edited around 300 films.

In 1962 he married the sculptor Katharina Szelinski-Singer , b. Singer. Together with his wife, he was a member of the Berlin State Association of the Esslingen Artists' Guild .
