Johannes Tesfaldet

Johannes Tesfaldet (born June 24, 1980 ) is a former German basketball player of Eritrean descent. The 1.88 meter tall player was active in the basketball league for Würzburg and Nördlingen and played a total of 34 games in the top German division.

career

Tesfaldet, who was usually only called "Joe" for a short time in basketball circles, played in the youth of TSG Ehingen. From 1999 to 2001 he wore the SV Oberelchingen jersey in the 2nd Bundesliga basketball division , and between 2001 and 2004 he played for USC Freiburg (also the second division).

For the 2004/05 season, Tesfaldet moved to the Bundesliga club TSK Würzburg , but received only about four minutes of playing time per game in eight games and moved to Friborg Olympic in the Swiss National Basketball League in February 2005 . Before the 2005/06 season he was signed by the German second division club Hertener Löwen  and made a name for himself with good performances and a point average of 9.1.

After a year with the Lions, Tesfaldet moved to the relay competitor Mitteldeutscher BC in Weißenfels , where he acted until the end of the 2006/07 season and then went to the Giants Nördlingen  . There he experienced the most successful period of his career. In 2008 he was promoted to the basketball league with the Nördlingers  and managed to stay in the BBL in the 2008/09 season with them, but the club decided to withdraw from the first division due to a lack of sponsors. Tesfaldet had played 26 Bundesliga games in the 2008/09 season (6:20 minutes playing time per game, one point per mission on average). He stayed after the voluntary descent into the 2. Bundesliga ProA one more season in Nördlingen, before the end of his basketball career performance in the 2010/11 Ballers Osnabrück (also ProA) played.
