Yohannes XIX. of Alexandria
Yohannes XIX. (* 1855 in Deir Tasa, Asyut ; † June 21, 1942 ) was the 113th Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark ( Coptic Church ).
He entered the Paromeos monastery in Wadi Natrun as a monk . Pope Kirellos V sent him to Greece to study theology. He then became Metropolitan of Beheira . From 1928 until his death he was Pope of the Coptic Church. He established the theological school for monks in Helwan , which was named after him. He consecrated Coptic Metropolitans for Ethiopia in 1929 and five Ethiopian bishops.
