Johannes Züll (born May 5, 1965 in Nuremberg ) is a German manager in the media industry.

Life

After studying economics at the University of St. Gallen , Johannes Züll began his professional career at the Boston Consulting Group . He then worked as "Executive Vice President" for Internet and New Technologies at RTL Group in Luxembourg. From 2002 to 2003, the trained economist was managing director of RTL Newmedia.

From March 2003 he was the sole managing director of the German news channel n-tv . On September 1, 2007 he became managing director at RTL Interactive. There he replaced Constantin Lange, who left the company at his own request. In addition, Züll took over the management of strategic corporate development at RTL Group Germany. His successor at n-tv was Hans Demmel , who was previously the magazine manager at RTL.

At the end of June 2008, Züll left Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and became CEO Germany of Aegis Media Gruppe on July 1, 2008. On August 31, 2009, he parted ways with the company “by mutual agreement”. Züll returned to the RTL group and became managing director of RTL Televizija in Croatia on September 1, 2009 . He succeeded Christoph Mainusch, who became CEO of the Alpha Media Group. In 2013, Züll is said to have extended his contract with RTL Televizija for another three years. On July 1, 2014, Züll is moving from Croatia to Hamburg. There he took over the management of the Studio Hamburg Group as Chairman of the Management Board .
